Easy Vegan Homemade Biscuits and “Sausagey” Herb Gravy

Biscuits and gravy don’t have to be hard. In fact, you can easily make both the biscuits and gravy, vegan, and from scratch, in under 30 minutes.

This is not my first biscuits and gravy video.

But because of a non-vegan biscuit faux pas, and the unreasonable time commitment required to make seitan sausage before making gravy, I’ve always been a bit self conscious about that video. Since the day I uploaded it, I’ve thought about how I would do things differently.

This video is my redemption. The biscuits are delicious and almost as easy as store bought, and most importantly they are guaranteed to be vegan. The seitan sausage has been whittled down to a seasoning blend that you just add to your gravy..

So, here they are: Easy Vegan Drop Biscuits, and “Sausagey” Herb gravy.

  1. I just made this and it was amazing! I did cook some Gardein sausage in the pan before making the gravy to be extra, but the real star was the biscuits! So good. I love your videos and recipes, especially when you taste it at the end- your facial expressions is what makes me really want to go make it. Thanks for another yummy food moment ❤️

  3. Oh my gosh your recipes are awesome! I basically crave these every weekend and now I can make them. Your channel is pretty straight forward and it’s nice to see another vegan male on YouTube. There’s no extra fluff and your personality seems down to earth and unrehearsed

    1. I’m glad you liked the spice blend. I compared about 5 different non-vegan sausage recipes to see what spices they used; creating an actual chart to see which spices were absolutely necessary in order to deliver that “sausage” flavor. I agree about the heat. It’s just enough to let you know its there. And those biscuits… I’m going to have to keep that baking mix on hand in my own kitchen so I can easily make a batch when the cravings strike. Thank you for taking the time to comment and let me now how things went for you. It means a ton!

    2. +Monson Made This Biscuits and gravy are one of my favorites so I was excited that you revisited this recipe. I just made this for dinner and it was fabulous. You nailed the spices for the gravy, perfectly savory, creamy and I liked the hint of heat. The biscuits were super easy to make and mine looked exactly like yours. It was worth the tiny bit of extra effort to make the biscuits. Just the right amount of chew/softness and fresh out of the oven, delicious. Thank you for another great recipe

    3. It is. You could just use kosher salt, if you want, but I think it Lawry’s add’s just a bit more “authenticity”. Let me know hot it goes!

    1. Making it again for the video showed me again how easy it is. Make a bit batch of the spice blend to keep on hand. Make a double batch of the Baking Mix…. You’ll be in B&G heaven before you know it.
